We are dedicated to giving back to the communities where we do business through multiple philanthropic efforts. We embrace our responsibility in dedicating time and resources to worthy organizations that are important to our communities and professionals.
A Legacy Of Giving Back
H.W. Kaufman’s Champions & Charities and other initiatives over the years have brought people together and cemented shared values. Danny & Jodie Kaufman are honored to continue the philanthropic efforts started by Alan Kaufman.
Champions & Charities
Champions & Charities is our company’s signature philanthropic initiative to give back to the communities where we live and work.
The program champions causes important to our 2,000 associates worldwide as well as Burns & Wilcox brand ambassadors, professional golfers Jimmy Walker, Webb Simpson, Max Homa, and Sophia Schubert. As part of Champions & Charities, H.W. Kaufman Group associates are provided paid volunteer time off to support nonprofit organizations close to their hearts.
To date, Champions & Charities has supported dozens of non-profit organizations through associated-driven volunteering and fundraising, as well as company donations.
Harvesting Hope Against Hunger
Harvesting Hope Against Hunger is an associate-driven initiative to support hunger relief charities in their communities. Throughout September 2023, associates throughout North America volunteered nearly 1,000 hours to dozens of local food banks in areas where we conduct business.
Associates also hosted food drives, collecting thousands of food items for those in need. For example, associates at our headquarters in Metro Detroit filled 500 snack packs with 3,500 nonperishable and easy-to-prepare food items for kids at risk of going hungry on the weekends. Furthermore, all employee donations were matched dollar-for-dollar by H.W. Kaufman.
Back To School Packathons
In the summer of 2023, associates across the U.S. and Canada held Back-to-School Pack-a-Thons where they stuffed more than 2,200 backpacks full of school supplies.
Offices partnered with local charities to donate the backpacks to kids in need in the communities where we do business.
